The first trailer for Wonder Woman is finally here! Gal Gadot made her first appearance as the Amazonian warrior in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and was terrific in the film, making her first solo film one of the most anticipated superhero movies of 2017. Luckily for us, the trailer is not an exclusive for SDCC attendees. We can watch and dissect this trailer until the next one, and until its eventual release in the summer of 2017.
This trailer was absolutely fantastic. I mean, I don't know what else there is to say. For it being nearly three minutes long, they didn't give us a plot, nor did they spoil any cool action sequences. The color of this film is also much richer and saturated than previous DC films, giving it a much more lively tone. I'm also liking Gal Gadot and Chris Pine's chemistry in this film quite a bit, albeit its a very small sample. Robin Wright looked pretty badass, as well, so I'm hoping she gets a scene or two to show off her skills. But, overall, this film has me extremely excited for the future DC properties. I'm hoping this trailer is a little taste of what we can expect next year, and that's all I really need. We will inevitably get an official trailer with more story, but I hope they don't fall into the BVS trap of releasing your best scenes in the trailers.
Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and is slated for release on June 2, 2017.
