After many names were rumored for the role of young Han Solo, including Taron Egerton and Jack Reynor, it has been confirmed that Alden Ehrenreich has been cast in the stand alone Star Wars film. Eherenreich starred in Hail, Caesar! and was praised for his performance in the film.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller, directors of 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street, will helm the film, slated to premiere in the summer of 2018. There are still no details as far as the general plot of the movie, but we do know that it will take place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and may feature some familiar characters.
