New Images and Character Descriptions from 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' Visual Story Guide

The marketing for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been virtually nonexistent after the first trailer premiered. All we know in regards to the film has been the general plot and the cast, but we have not gotten certain character details. Well, a 164-page visual story guide from Media Lab Books, much like the one for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has released some character info and new images in the preview. Also, the visual guide will eventually include 130 pages of photos. Now, if one wants to go into the movie completely fresh, its best to avoid the images and details.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, and centers around a group of rebel fighters that go on a mission to steal the Death Star plans. The plot for the film comes from the crawl text for the original film. Now, the visual story guide gives us more insight about the characters and some of the new models of vehicles that'll be introduced.


Here are some of the character details for the crew of the Rebel Alliance:

Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones): As a highly skilled soldier and warrior, Jyn, along with her cohorts in the rogue band of resistance fighters, is prepared to steal the Death Star plans and bring new hope to the galaxy. United in this daring mission, Jyn and the others heroes in the Rebel Alliance will have to enter battle against the evil forces of the Empire.

Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna): Rebel Alliance officer.

Chirrut (Donnie Yen): A "spiritual warrior."

Baze (Jiang Wen): A freelance assassin.

Bodhi (Riz Ahmed): A rebel soldier.

Alan Tudyk (possibly K-250): An enforcer droid.

Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn): As Director of the Imperial Military, Krennic is prepared to protect and preserve the evil Galactic Empire. His means of defense will be needed more than ever when a rogue band of resistance fighters comes together for a daring mission that will see them attempt to steal plans for the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon.

Death Troopers/Stormtroopers:  As elite Empire soldiers with the sole purpose of thwarting enemy Rebel Alliance forces, stormtroopers are prepared to protect and preserve the evil Galactic Empire.

There are also some images of vehicles, including a TIE Striker and Rebel Starfighter.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards and is slated for release on December 16, 2016.
